Casebook 4: A Score Settled - 4.9[index]
Was this significant? I couldn't tell. But something about it struck me as incongruous. Was this the reason for his death? Writer's block. Hegedus returns from lunch and faces the music. He cannot continue; he is drained creatively. He takes the only way out. It just didn't sound right. Inspector Taub turned to me and smiled mischievously.
“You see. There is nothing. Come, let us talk to the neighbours.”
One door down, Taub introduced me to Bence Hallgató. He greeted us solemnly and gestured us inside. The room was a mirror image of the one next door. Hallgató sat down on the bed, sighed and muttered something to himself in Hungarian.
“You speak English?” I asked.
“Who doesn't?”
“If you could tell me about Meklàr Hegedus, I would be grateful.”
